Green Valley Markets to Take Over Superfresh Space

The new supermarket, owned by Baltimore-based B. Green & Company, will open following renovations.

Green Valley Markets will move into the space where the Elkridge , announced the shopping center’s owner, Regency Centers, in a press release Thursday.

A date for the new store’s opening has yet to be finalized, according to the release.

“The grocer is a perfect complement to the national and local retailers currently in the center,” said Alan Roth, senior market officer with Regency Centers, in a written statement.

Elkridge Corners' other tenants include , , , , , , Verizon, , the Dollar Shop and .

When it opens, Green Valley Markets will be the "first, new, full-service neighborhood supermarket" from Baltimore wholesaler B. Green & Company, which owns two Food Depot stores in Baltimore City.

According to Regency Centers, with Green Valley Markets' agreement to lease 39,571-square-foot anchor space, the Elkridge Corners shopping center is now fully leased.

In July, the shopping center lost its anchor store with the shuttering of Superfresh. The grocery chain’s parent company—, and the Elkridge store was  where no winning bidder was identified at auction.

Regency Centers said that while the opening date for Green Valley Markets is being finalized, interior and exterior store improvements will occur through the next month.
