Elkridge Holiday Houses (PHOTOS)
Elkridge Elementary first grade students built gingerbread houses on Thursday.
First graders at got to take home a sweet gift on Thursday.
Armed with graham crackers, milk cartons, candy and a container of frosting each, 160 students set to work on project gingerbread house.
Milk cartons were used as the base around which the kids built their creations.

After "gluing" graham crackers on the milk cartons, which the school had been collecting for the past three weeks, the kids sang carols while waiting for their creations to dry.
Then came the final phase of development: coating the houses with candy. Kids added a "tree" made from an ice cream cone too. Parents and teachers helped bag the gingerbread houses for students to take home. See the results in our photo gallery.
