Meadowridge Closed after Vehicle Crashes into Pole

Police are on Meadowridge Road in Elkridge after a vehicle crash flooded the roadway Friday evening, according to the Howard County Police Department (HCPD).

At 8:56 p.m., HCPD responded to a report of a vehicle crash into a tree on Meadowridge Road at Old Rockbridge Drive.

Nobody was injured in the crash, said police, but the vehicle knocked down wires, hit a pole and caused a fire hydrant to flood the roadway.

As a result, HCPD is still diverting traffic as of 10:40 p.m. and reported it has not determined when the road will reopen. The State Highway Administration is handling cleanup, said police, because the water left a muddy mess on Meadowridge Road.
