Crash Near Furnace Avenue Sends Several to Shock Trauma
The collision into a tree occurred Wednesday evening and included a child.

Multiple people were transported to shock trauma Wednesday evening after their vehicle hit a pole on Furnace Avenue in Elkridge, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday, officials said they received a 9-1-1 call that a minivan was involved in a collision on Furnace Avenue near Ridge Road.

Four or five individuals from the minivan were taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, according to preliminary reports from officials. One patient was a 3-year-old who had been ejected from the vehicle, said police.
Information was not available regarding the victims’ conditions because investigators had just arrived on the scene at approximately 9:40 p.m., said Lieutenant Michael Brothers. He said they will be reconstructing the incident to understand what happened.

Furnace Avenue is closed while police and fire officials investigate, reported ABC 2 News.
