New Mattress Store Has Elkridge Connections

The mattress warehouse in Gateway Overlook contains more than bedtime items.

Couches, tables, screens, mirrors and loveseats line the floor, inside walls that still bear Loehmann's lettering.

Staff said that the furniture outlet, which gets goods from the Global Trading wholesale warehouse on San Tomas Drive in Elkridge, is hoping to become a permanent fixture in the shopping center.

Currently, it is leasing the space and competing with at least two other bidders for a long-term spot, according to the mattress warehouse staff.

Since opening on Saturday, June 16, employees said the store has had limited traffic but plans to run a sale this weekend with signage announcing its opening.
