Disorderly Customer at Elkridge Corners, Attempted Robbery on Montevideo
A roundup of police and fire reports in and around Elkridge from the past week.

Police found the door to a mobile home on the 6600 block of Washington Boulevard kicked in on Thursday, Dec. 15. Charges are pending against a juvenile male found on the scene at approximately 4 p.m.
“We are still working to identify who owns the property before we charge,” said Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department (HCPD).

A drunk and disorderly man was arrested Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Elkridge Corners shopping center.
"Police received a call around 3:45 p.m. for an intoxicated customer who was causing a disturbance in the Verizon Wireless store," said Schroen.

"The customer attempted to drive away in a vehicle. An officer stopped the man and he was transported to northern district."
Police said it was not clear whether any charges had been filed.
Special Operations Team Helps Apprehend Alleged Gunman
At approximately 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, HCPD's tactical team was called in after a man reportedly threatened to kill his wife in their Jessup home. The team deployed a flash grenade, and police arrested the suspect, who has been charged with two counts of assault. Read the .
Two Vehicles Stolen
A 2004 gray Nissan Sentra was stolen from the 6600 block of Marie Curie Drive on Dec. 14, reported at 11:08 p.m.
A 2003 Acura was stolen from the 6000 block of Augustine Avenue on Dec. 14, reported at 11:24 a.m
Fire at Paper Plant
Howard County firefighters responded to reports of fire at a paper plant in Jessup on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
A forklift caught fire at approximately 11:15 a.m., according to Jackie Cutler, spokeswoman for Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
The building on the 8200 block of Patuxent Range Road was evacuated and the fire was put out “within minutes," said Cutler. “Units stayed on scene for about an hour to ventilate the building.”
Armed Street Robbery on Montevideo Road
A woman was robbed at gunpoint on the way to her car at 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11. The incident occurred on the 7400 block of Montevideo Road.
The victim did not have cash or credit cards, said police.
"The suspect fled on foot without obtaining anything," said Schroen. "The victim drove away and stopped [a Maryand State Police] trooper on MD 175.”
HCPD was called in to assist and made area checks but did not find the suspect, who was described as a white male in his mid-thirties, standing approximately 5’4' tall; he was reportedly wearing a black Harley Davidson sweatshirt and dark pants on Sunday and had covered his face with a red bandana or scarf.
“The investigation is continuing,” said police.
