Teacher Appreciation Week at Elkridge (PHOTOS)

Teacher Appreciation Week made school a little sweeter in Elkridge.

At , the PTA showed appreciation for educators by decorating the building like Candyland and showering teachers with sweets.

The annual event, which the National PTA proclaimed would be from May 5–11 this year, honors teachers for their contributions in shaping students' lives.

Approximately 100 Elkridge Elementary PTA members participated in the celebration, which one teacher said was the best around.

"I know teachers in schools across the nation, and none receive any finer treatment," wrote the educator in a thank-you note to the PTA. "Elkridge PTA is definitely #1!"
