Tractor Trailer Fire Puts Brakes on Traffic to Old Washington Road
A fire after 3 p.m. on Thursday brought traffic at the intersections of Old Washington, Montgomery and Route 1 to a halt.
Old Washington Road was closed to traffic for about 20 minutes Thursday afternoon as emergency personnel put out a tractor-trailer fire near Montgomery Road in Elkridge, said police.
Fire officials said they didn't believe anyone was injured in the fire at 3:10 p.m.
The tractor-trailer was on a parking lot near US 1, according to Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department. The road was closed on Old Washington at Montgomery and Washington Boulevard, said police.

By 4 p.m., officials reported they had cleared the scene.
