2 Howard County Schools Newly Certified As Maryland Green Schools

Two HoCo schools have been newly certified as Maryland Green Schools while 1 has been recertified and 2 attained sustainable school status.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Two Howard County public schools have become newly certified Maryland Green Schools by the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education.

Patapsco Middle School and Worthington Elementary School are newly certified. Homewood Center has been recognized as recertified and both Mount View Middle School and Veterans Elementary school have achieved sustainable school status after participating in the program for 14 years.

HCPSS has a total of 42 schools participating in the Maryland Green Schools program, which provides educational opportunities for students in preschool through 12th grades at schools that promote responsible environmental stewardship practices and increase awareness of how humans' relationship with the environment impacts public health and society.

MAEOE and the Maryland Green School community will host a celebration in May to recognize awardees.
