The shredding events will be Oct. 10 in Cooksville and Oct. 31 in Ellicott City. Face coverings are required.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Gather up your papers containing sensitive information and head out to one of two community shredding events planned for Oct. 10 at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center in Cooksville and Oct. 31 at the Long Gate Park & Ride (exit 1A off of MD 100) in Ellicott City. Both events will take place rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the trucks are full.
Residents may bring up to three bags or boxes of paper to be shredded. Do not bring junk mail, catalogs and office paper, which should instead be set out for regular curbside recycling. The shredding event is organized by Howard County's department of public works' bureau of environmental services. Face coverings and physical distancing will be enforced, according to the county.
