$50K Winning Lottery Ticket Sold At Ellicott City Store

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Check your tickets - someone who bought a Maryland Lottery ticket at an Ellicott City Giant is $50,000 richer after a recent Bonus Match 5 drawing Monday.

The winner has not been publicly identified by the Maryland Lottery as of Thursday.

The winning ticket was purchased Oct. 12 at the Giant located at 9200 Baltimore National Pike, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The ticket matched all five winning numbers — 12, 20, 22, 25 and 29 — to capture the game's $50,000 top prize. The Bonus Ball was 39.

The Howard County grocery store will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Bonus Match 5 drawings are held every evening. Players select five numbers between 1 and 39, with a sixth number drawn as the Bonus Ball.

Tickets start at $1 for a single play. Smaller prizes ranging from $2 to $600 also are awarded depending on how many winning numbers and the Bonus Ball a player matches.

Because the prize is worth more than $25,000, it must be claimed at Maryland Lottery headquarters at the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Winners can claim qualifying prizes in person by appointment or by mail.
