7 Students Receive Scholarships From Howard County Arts Council
Seven high school seniors have received scholarships totaling $10K from the Howard County Arts Council.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Seven high school seniors have been awarded scholarships from the Howard County Arts Council.
Scholarship funds will be used by the students as they enroll in an accredited college program to pursue a degree in the arts.
A total of $10,000 was distributed to the following seven high school seniors:

- Amelia Bachman, Reservoir High School, Visual Art $1,000
- Ava Buckhalt, Howard High School, Dance $2,500
- Ayanna Gordon, Howard High School, Visual Art $1,500
- Aidan Gould, Guilford Park High School, Visual Art $1,000
- Eli Krakower, Glenelg High School, Instrumental Music $1,500
- Erin Leberknight, Centennial High School, Musical Theatre $1,500
- Jaeda Tantanaseekun, River Hill High School, Visual Art $1,000
Each applicant was reviewed based on established criteria as demonstrated in work samples and other application materials submitted, including artistic merit, demonstrated understanding of artistic discipline, ability of the student to articulate artistic concepts and influences, commitment to a career in the arts and a successful record in an academic setting.
The 2026 Arts Scholarship Program is made possible through funds raised via the Arts Council’s annual fundraiser, the Celebration of the Arts in Howard County.
