82-Year-Old West Friendship Woman Killed In Howard County Car Crash: Police

An 82-year-old West Friendship woman was killed in a car crash along Route 32 Saturday afternoon, according to Howard County Police.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An 82-year-old West Friendship woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a car crash.

At approximately 12:44 p.m., the driver of a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 was attempting to make a left turn from southbound Route 32 onto eastbound Route 144 when it was struck by a 2021 Jeep Renegade traveling north on Route 32.

A passenger in the back seat of the Mercedes, 82-year-old In Ja Yi of West Friendship, was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercedes and all three occupants of the Jeep, all adults, were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Route 32 north was closed for approximately three hours.
