HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Beautiful Brie

A female chocolate Lab mix named Brie wiggles her entire body when she meets someone. This 2-year-old weighs 55 pounds and loves humans. According to the shelter, she can get very excited and boisterous, so she'll need gentle reminders to sit and be calm when she wants attention. She's a smart gal and eager to please. Shelter staff believe this sweetheart needs a house with a large yard for burning energy.

Magnificent Max

A mixed breed, Max has the characteristics of both Beagle and Pointer, and is petite and built like a sighthound. He loves to go for runs and walks, especially when he gets to explore. Max is 8 and neutered, and got along wonderfully with a 5-year-old child before. He hasn't been around cats, according to the shelter, so they do not know how well he will do with them. He likely will be happiest as the only dog in the home but if you have another dog, he or she will need to meet Max first. A smart boy, Max loves baths and is fairly quiet unless he's nervous, at which point he'll whine a bit. He will need some basic leash training, too. When Max was younger, he was hit by a car and bears a few scars from the incident. Because he is an escape artist, all doors and gates should be shut and locked.

Wonderful Waylon

If you love cuddles, you'll love Waylon. This 70-pound mixed breed may have some Plott Hound in him, but loves affection. He will lean on you and throw you some sweet, adoring looks to try and get attention. A smart and loyal dog, he follows basic commands although he would benefit from basic training. He tends to be cautious with other dogs at first and would need a slow introduction. He likes his big soft dog bed and willingly cuddles up into a tight ball to drift off to sleep at night.

Sidekicks Bonnie & Clyde

Bonded buddies Bonnie and Clyde are beautiful 2-year-old Vizslas. Clyde is neutered and weighs 65 pounds; Bonnie weighs 55 pounds. They're both very affectionate and friendly. They also have very high activity levels and would be best in a home with a large fenced-in yard for daily exercise. Clyde loves belly rubs, knows basic commands, and is a smart boy who would benefit from some additional training. Bonnie also loves attention and would grow with some training, too.
