Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week In Howard County

These pets are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Whitney is a 6-year-old spayed female who loves affection. She got along wonderfully with the older children in her previous home and would do well with calm, older children in her new home, especially since loud noises tend to spook her. She got along well with another cat but hid from the dog in her previous home. She loves laser toys and once she's worn out, she'll relax and unwind in her bed.

Roger the rooster boasts brilliant colors and a terrific personality. He happens to be quite friendly and enjoys being near people. He'll even listen to you as you speak to him and he'll even crow to call you back when you walk away.

Saebyk is an amazingly sweet 4-year-old neutered male Shih Tzu weighing approximately 19 pounds. He is in search of a quiet home where he will always have a person at home, so if you work from home or if you are retired, you are encouraged to apply. Saebyk also would prefer a home where the children are older and respect his space. If you have resident pets currently, a slow introduction will be needed. Saebyk lived with another older dog in his previous home but never lived with a cat.

Gerdie is an adorable female Yorkie mix believed to be 4 years old. She's friendly, but unsure when she's approached to be petted or picked up. She would do best in an adult-only home with someone who can recognize when she's growing fearful. She loves to go for walks and explore the outdoors. After playtime, she enjoys curling up in her doggy bed and will cuddle with her adults, too. She will need professional monthly grooming and brushing at home several times a week, as her hair is thin and tangles easily.

London is an affectionate and social 8-month-old female kitten. She was brought to the shelter as a stray so shelter staff do not know how she will do with another cat in the home or how she will get along with dogs and small children. A slow introduction to resident pets would be needed.
