Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week In Howard County
These pets are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Tinsel can be best described as goofy, energetic, smart, friendly and loyal.
According to the shelter, with a training class and some bonding, she will listen well to a consistent person. Tinsel is a mixed breed dog and reminds the shelter of a playful boxer in her mannerisms but looks similar to an American pit bull terrier as well. Her adorable floppy ears will surely make you smile every day. Tinsel walks well on leash with reminders. She likes to take sniffing walks to explore all the smells on the ground. She will need to be take out to potty often to help her learn her new potty schedule in your home.
Due to landlord and insurance pet policies, Tinsel’s adoption requires you to own your home. She would also do very well with a fenced yard to keep her safe and give her space for running and exercising. If you have a dog at home, you would need to schedule an appointment to have them meet Tinsel. She needs a proper, calm introduction to new dogs so she can have some time to get used to them. Once Tinsel knows the dog is not going to challenge her, she will eventually play.

Meet Pancake, a one-year-old guinea pig who is looking for a quiet, gentle home. She is adorable and talks to you, making her “wheek wheek” sound when she is happy to see you. Pancake will do okay with children who understand to move slowly and be gentle with her. She will sit with you in a towel and she did not give us any trouble to trim her nails. She needs some time to get to know new people. It doesn’t take much to gain her trust if you move slowly, speak gently and have a piece of apple or carrot for her.
Bowtie is a male kitten approximately 9 months old who is looking for an adult home. He has times where he is independent, active and exploring all around. He also has times to he is social and rubs against you for attention when you sit with him. He purrs like crazy when he stops long enough to enjoy being pet. Bowtie likes to play and chase toys, but also plays rough with people and is still learning that our skin is sensitive and he needs to be gentle. Bowtie would probably enjoy another cat buddy who would play rough with him after they get to know each other.

Chase would love to find an adult home or a home with older children who understand cat behavior. He would also enjoy a doggie friend to run and play with. He previously lived with a dog and they were perfect together. He has lots of energy and likes to explore, run and sometimes play rough. His favorite thing to do is to play. He is very fast and does not hesitate to jump, pounce and catch moving things, including your feet. His favorite game is to chase a laser light. He will keep you entertained as he makes a chatter sound because he is so excited. At certain times, Chase is independent and he wants to get attention on his terms. He will let you know with a swat of his paw if he does not want to be pet. When he is tired and feeling cuddly, he loves to cuddle and even be held.
This beautiful girl is one of the happiest and friendliest cats. Beatrice is approximately 2 years old. She has been around another cat and got along fine. She loves people and comes right over to you for attention. She purrs while you pet her and rolls over upside down to try to get you to come back for more petting. Beatrice is super sweet and likes to explore and follow you around. She also likes to sit in your lap when she is relaxed.
