ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Hot Garbage Pizza will open later this summer on Main Street in Ellicott City.
The community enjoyed a taste of Hot Garbage Pizza at a pop-up market held June 19.
Owner Geoff Gill told The Baltimore Sun that he and his wife, Krista, will be opening their eatery in Tiber Alley in the former site of The Rumor Mill. Gill used to enjoy pizza night with his grandmother who popped by his family's house to cook.
After whipping up the typical cheese, pepperoni and other pizzas, they would create one pizza made with all the week’s leftovers, Gill told the Sun.
“We called it the garbage pizza,” Gill said, who moved to Ellicott City in 2019 after living in Baltimore City. “It was always the best pizza.”
Hot Garbage Pizza will offer a minimalist menu with a homestyle cooking approach to create the tasty pies. The initial menu will feature Margherita, pepperoni, white, “Grandma’s garbage classic” and a rotating seasonal special.
