ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Howard County officials will host a public meeting this month to discuss plans to repair a stormwater management facility at the Department of Public Works' Highways Shop Maintenance Facility in Dayton.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, July 13, in the Pindell Room at the Howard County Library System's Glenwood Branch.
The proposed project includes removing accumulated sediment, replacing the facility's principal spillway and riser with concrete structures, creating a shallow wetland with a forebay and micropool, and stabilizing the outfall channel with rock riprap.
Construction is expected to begin in January 2027 and be completed by October 2027, weather permitting.
County officials will present the project plans during an informal meeting followed by a question-and-answer session. Staff from the Department of Public Works and the project's engineering consultant will also be available to answer questions and receive public feedback.
Residents who cannot attend but would like to review the plans or ask questions can contact Michele Monde with the Department of Public Works at 410-313-0844 or .
