School Employee, Family Rebuilds After Fire Destroys Their Ellicott City Townhome

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A Howard County family is focusing on rebuilding after a fire severely damaged their home July 27.

Two firefighters were injured and taken to the hospital while battling the townhouse fire, which broke out around 6:40 a.m. at the home, which is located in the 2600 block of Legends Way, Patch reported previously.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Eunjik Lee, her husband, Mindo Choi, and their family in the meantime. Lee happens to be an employee of the Howard County Public School System, working with special needs students. The Lee family, which includes three children ages 7, 12 and 16, and Lee's parents who had just arrived from Korea. They are currently staying with church members as they begin to rebuild their lives, the GoFundMe stated.

Funds raised will help provide temporary housing, food, groceries, toiletries, personal items, medications and replace essential household items.

"Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference for the Lee family as they rebuild ... Your kindness and generosity will mean the world to them during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for helping the Lee family find hope and stability again," the GoFundMe organizer Cindy Lee stated.
