• Burglaries Reported At Ellicott City Tobacco Shops (patch.com) — Residents in Ellicott City are being alerted after two tobacco shops, Smoke Capital on Main Street and Tobacco King on Baltimore National Pike, were burglarized early Saturday morning. In both cases, suspects broke windows to enter and stole merchandise. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Howard County Police via phone or email.
   

• Ellicott City Man Can Go On Trial In Wife's Stabbing Death: Report (patch.com) — An Ellicott City man accused in his estranged wife's fatal stabbing at their Huntsmans Run home has been ruled competent to stand trial, with a motions hearing set for Jan. 1, 2027, and trial on March 15. He remains held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center as prosecutors pursue murder and protective-order violation charges stemming from the February incident.
