LAUREL, MD — Drivers should be aware of temporary lane closures for a construction project in Laurel, in effect now through late February.
Crews will repair a failing stormwater pond near 10408 Stansfield Road. The project includes replacing the main spillway barrel with a reinforced concrete barrel and repairing the existing outlet structure.
Weather permitting, the project should wrap up by late February 2027.
Signs have been posted in the project area to alert drivers of the work, which will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Temporary lane closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays from Nov. 2 through Nov. 20. Closures will begin with westbound Stanfield Road from 10416 to 10404 for about 1.5 weeks, then move to the eastbound lane.
The County's Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund funds the project.
