The 1st annual Glen Mar Golf Classic benefit for Grassroots attracted a full field at Timbers at Troy Golf Course and raised over $16,000. All of the proceeds from the event, including sponsorships, silent auction and other fundraising activities were donated to Grassroots.
Sponsors included Corporate Sponsor Brickman, Silver Sponsor Howard County General Hospital, Hole In One Sponsor Pat and Don Lee, Putting Contest Sponsor Cel and Dave Beck. Hole sponsors and other contributors also supported the event. Breakfast was provided by Dunkin’ Donuts and Einstein Bagels, the BBQ lunch was cooked by George and Sally Dohner, shirts were provided by Jim Lumsden of API Source, and bags and snacks were donated by Wegmans.
The event was organized and managed by the Glen Mar Golf Classic Team, including Senior Pastor Matt Poole and church members Libby Boswell, Kevin Bauer, Cel Beck, Gail Carter, Jeff Carter, Barb Julian, Don Lee and Nancy Pirritano.

The Silent Auction was managed by Loren Agrusti, Lauren Bauer and Trish Bennett. Day of the event volunteers included Debbie Grosh, Steve Lokitis, MaryKa Kanahan, Pat Kuykendall, Jen Stallings and DC Veale.
