Armed Robber Sentenced In Case Targeting U.S. Postal Worker From Howard County

A Temple Hills man has been sentenced in connection to the armed robbery of a U.S. postal worker based out of Columbia.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A Temple Hills man has been sentenced in connection to the armed robbery of a U.S. postal worker based out of the Oak Hall Post Office.

On June 21, 2022, Teshan Jordan and Fermon Nichols followed the U.S. postal worker from the post office as she started her delivery route. The postal worker had been targeted because she carried a universal key that allows access to all mailboxes in the county. According to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office, Jordan and Nichols wanted the key so they could break into mailboxes and steal checks and debit cards.

Jordan has been sentenced to 35 years in prison suspect all but 23 years. He was convicted last month of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence and theft scheme.

Nichols, of Bowie, pleaded guilty in January to armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence for his involvement. Nichols will be sentenced March 22.
