Businesses Evacuated, Roads Closed After Robbery in Ellicott City: Police
Closures near Ellicott Center Drive have been lifted, Howard County police said.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A robbery investigation put part of Ellicott City on alert Thursday afternoon, leading to road closures and business evacuations. After 3 p.m., police said roads had reopened and the suspect(s) had left the area.
A commercial robbery in progress was reported at 12:20 p.m., prompting police to respond to the professional building in the 3400 block of Ellicott Center Drive and evacuate employees from businesses there.
Two roads were temporarily closed for more than an hour due to the investigation, according to the Howard County Police Department, which reported at 2:45 p.m. that all roads had reopened.

Ellicott Center Drive was closed at Ridge Road, and Ridge Road was closed between US 40 and Patapsco River Road, police said at 1:30 p.m.
The suspect(s) in a commercial robbery in the 3400 block of Ellicott Center Drive had left the area, police said. After 3 p.m., detectives were continuing to investigate.
