Sundays At Three Chamber Music Series- Piano Quartets with Ismar Gomes and Friends

We will take you on a grand late Romantic tour from Pejačević's Piano Quartet in D minor, Op. 25, with its intense angst contrasted by deeply expressive song-like melodies to Suk's Piano Quartet in A minor, Op.1, his first serious chamber music effort, composed when he was just 17, full of dramatic intensity and exuberant vitality, and finally Brahms' Piano Quartet No. 2 in A major, Op. 26, often considered Brahms' homage to Schubert, filled with broad, serene melodies, unexpected harmonic shifts, and masterful counterpoint, and, in the last movement, Hungarian folk rhythms creating a lively, joyful, dance-like atmosphere, leading to an exhilarating conclusion!

We have a group of remarkable musicians to deliver this musical feast--Wan -Chi Su, piano; Meira Silverstein, violin, Renate Falkner, viola, and Ismar Gomes, cellist.
