Car Show at Rockburn to Celebrate Dorsey Speedway

This weekend there will be two car shows in one day at Rockburn Branch Park.

The Dorsey Gathering will be recalling the days of the Dorsey Speedway, which closed in 1985. The race car track used to be located off Dorsey Road in the area where the Dorsey MARC Station is now. On Saturday, cars and friends from back in the day will converge at Rockburn Branch Park, off Montgomery Road, to celebrate the tradition.

In addition, the Elrkidge Adult Athletic Association is having a car show as well in the same park.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome and appreciated. The Elkridge Heritage Society is sponsoring the event.

The car shows will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Rockburn Branch Park, 6415 Montgomery Road; access the event using the Montgomery Road entrance.
