This Labor Day Weekend Saturday, August 30, 2014, starting at 10 am we have:
COLAMILES - Courtyards of Tonge Row
A RESTORATION PROJECT - Uptown at the Wine Bin
COLAMILES will add his rhythmic & soul soothing sounds to the Courtyards of Tonge Row this Saturday. His first CD, “Airplane Songs” delves into the flooded space between dream and awake – that spot where you’re just as lucid of subconscious archetypes as you are of the tray-table in front of you. Certain songs are made for certain places. And these were built for that twilight when you’re nice and hypnotized, anticipating new places, seat reclined, soul blazed open, surrendered faith-first in a metal machine howling 30,000 feet above earth – groundless. *Come Buy Local, Eat Fresh & sit back & enjoy Colamiles at the Ellicott City Old Town Market this Saturday morning, August 30, on the Courtyards of Tonge Row.*
Jazzing up the market Uptown at the Wine Bin will be A RESTORATION PROJECT with Cleon Cumberbatch on saxophone, Kelvin Carney on percussion, and Roberto Tyson on guitar. Originally from NYC, Cleon Cumberbatch is quickly making inroads into the Baltimore jazz scene. A seasoned saxophonist with roots in classical music and straight-ahead as well as smooth jazz, Cleon has played with a variety of local musicians including a weekly performance with the Tom Reyes Quartet at the Tilted Pig. Joining Cleon in this new collaboration is percussionist Kelvin Carney and world-traveled guitarist Roberto Tyson. Both talented musicians have played with the group N-Groove at several local jazz festivals in the Maryland/Virginia area. *Like Live Jazz? Come on to Buy Local and Eat Fresh Uptown to the Wine Bin this Saturday morning and “Jive” to the Live Jazz of A Restoration Project!*
