Child Sex Abuse, Rape Verdict Reached In Howard County Trial
A Howard County jury has handed down a verdict in the case of a Baltimore man charged with sexually abusing a minor in his care.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A Howard County jury has found Roy David Free, 47, of Baltimore guilty of sexual child abuse, conspiracy to commit rape and conspiracy to commit sexual solicitation of a minor.
According to the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office, between the dates of Jan. 2, 2020, through March 5, 2020, Free sexually abused a minor who was placed in his care. The state offered, as evidence, text messages that Free and a co-defendant exchanged leading up to, during and after the abuse of the minor.
Free will be sentenced Jan. 31, 2023, according to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office. He has another case in Howard County pending against him involving the production of child pornography and child porn distribution in Baltimore City, according to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office.
