Choose Civility to Host Maryland's first The Longest Table to Connect and Build Community Through Conversations

The Longest Table, a first of a kind event for Maryland, will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 6 to 8 pm on the grounds of Howard Community College (HCC) located at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia. The Longest Table is a unique endeavor where up to 350 participants will gather to share a meal and conversation with new acquaintances to discover common ground and build a better community.
The Longest Table organizers seek to bring people together from across Howard County for facilitated discussions in a welcoming environment that purposely places people with friends they’ve not yet met. Table runners with questions relevant to the community will serve as conversation starters to encourage dialogue that will foster new relationships.
The premiere of The Longest Table is being held in conjunction with Columbia’s 50th birthday to embrace Jim Rouse's original vision for the planned community to be a welcoming place for people of all backgrounds. The Longest Table celebrates that vision and will encourage guests to talk about what it means to be a community and how to move forward over the next 50 years.
