Closure Expected During Pfefferkorn Road Bridge Project

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — This week, construction will happen on the Pfefferkorn Road bridge in West Friendship. Weather permitting, the project should be done by Sunday.

The project will include the removal and replacement of deteriorated beams, installation of new structural deck planks and replacement of the existing bridge railing with a concrete barrier.

During construction, Pfefferkorn Road traffic between Rover Mill Road and Mitchells Way will be closed to thru traffic. Motorists will follow a clearly marked detour using Pfefferkorn Road north and south of the bridge, MD 32 and Frederick Road.

The bridge will reopen to traffic the morning of Monday, Dec. 12.
