Coronavirus Concerns Prompt Officials To Cancel Public Hearing
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has canceled the March 12 resident's budget hearing in Ellicott City amidst coronavirus concerns.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, in coordination with the Howard County Department of Health, has canceled the resident’s budget hearing scheduled for Thursday. However, testimony can still be provided online.
“We are canceling the budget hearing out of an abundance of caution given recent progression of COVID-19. We want to first and foremost ensure the safety of our community and vulnerable populations,” said Ball in a statement. “We still want to hear from all our residents and encourage everyone to provide online testimony.”
The March 12 hearing was the second scheduled budget hearing for the fiscal year 2021 budget cycle.
