Three Hospitalized From Route 32 Crash: Police

Route 32 reopened after an hours-long crash investigation, Howard County police advised.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Three people were hospitalized after a crash on Route 32 Friday morning in western Howard County. The road was closed during the investigation and had reopened by 10:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, the Howard County Police Department reported.

Police said the crash involved two vehicles and happened at 6:12 a.m. when one drove into oncoming traffic. A Nissan Sentra had been headed south on Route 32 near Burntwoods Road when it crossed the center line "for an unknown reason" and hit a Ford F-250 going north, according to authorities.

Three men were hospitalized — both drivers were injured and so was the passenger in the Sentra — according to Howard County police, who said the driver was the only person in the truck. All were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, officials reported.
