US 29 Near Ellicott City Reopens After Crash Cleanup
Drivers were advised to take alternate routes and that school transportation may be impacted.

Due to a crash involving a dump truck on US 29 in Howard County, transportation officials advised drivers to avoid the highway near Route 40 for more than five hours on Thursday.
All lanes had reopened by 3:15 p.m. following a lengthy crash investigation, the Howard County Police Department reported.
The single-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m. on Thursday on US 29 in the area of the exit for Route 40, according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team.

A dump truck overturned, according to Howard County government officials.
One person was trapped, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported. A medevac helicopter responded to the scene, according to WNEW.

US 29 had been completely shut down in both directions since 9:20 a.m. Traffic on MD Route 100 and Interstate 70 were impacted as a result.
The Howard County Public School System issued an alert before 2 p.m. that buses may be delayed due to the traffic issues.

Two southbound lanes and one northbound lane on US 29 had reopened by 1:30 p.m., according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team.
Due to the ongoing investigation at the scene, the Howard County Police Department recommended taking alternate routes even after the lanes had reopened.
The Maryland State Highway Administration advised drivers to take Interstate 95 as an alternate route.
