Traffic Delays Are Expected along Folly Quarter Road Starting Wednesday

Drivers should expect delays along Folly Quarter Road in Ellicott City starting Wednesday due to a construction project.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Traffic may be delayed along Folly Quarter Road in Ellicott City once construction begins to replace a failed pipe culvert crossing. The project should begin Wednesday near 12300 Folly Quarter Road.

The project will replace a single metal pipe with dual concrete pipes and concrete walls on either side of the roadway. The impacted slopes will be graded further and armored to improve drainage and limit erosion in the project area. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by late September.

Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the work. While two-way traffic will be allowed through the area at all times along the roadway, drivers can expect delays during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
