Dennis Finnegan Joins Howard Bank as Executive Vice President

Former 1st Mariner Bank executive assumes responsibility for bank branches, marketing and deposit operations.

President and CEO Mary Ann Scully has announced that Dennis E. Finnegan has joined Howard Bank as Executive Vice President and Chief Deposit Officer. Finnegan is responsible for the bank’s branches, marketing, deposit operations and human resources.

“We are incredibly fortunate to add Dennis to our executive team,” Scully said. “His experiences in leading a larger branch network, in successfully funding a larger institution and in creating a dynamic brand will bode well for Howard Bank, its customers and shareholders. We think his leadership qualities are a perfect fit with our culture and all the opportunities facing us. ”

Finnegan previously served as Executive Vice President, Retail Banking, for 1st Mariner Bank. His 30 years in the banking industry also include positions at Crestar Bank (now Suntrust Bank), Thomson Financial Corporation and First National Bank of Maryland (now M&T Bank).

A resident of Timonium, Finnegan is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg and the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Babe Ruth Museum and Sports Legends Museum.
