Dog Rescued, 5 Adults Displaced In Ellicott City House Fire: Official

A fire damaged an Ellicott City home Monday night and prompted firefighters to rescue the family's pet dog. Five adults have been displaced.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A fire broke out Monday night at a home in Ellicott City. Firefighters on the scene were able to rescue the family's dog, while five adults were displaced because of the fire.

After arriving at the home located in the 4600 block of Dower Driver, it took firefighters around 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control. The fire was heavy on the back side of the home, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue.

The American Red Cross is helping the adults who lived at the home and the Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
