EC250 Time Capsule Dedication Saturday At Main Street Log Cabin

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Join in the festivities Saturday to place a commemorative EC250 time capsule at Ellicott City’s historic Main Street Log Cabin, 8394 Main Street, Ellicott City. The dedication will begin at 10 a.m.

Descendants of the Miami Nation will return to town take part in the ceremony and discuss their renowned leader Mihšihkinaahkwa’s (Chief Little Turtle’s) relationship with the Ellicotts and the tribe’s connection to the town and local Quaker groups.

A historic granite stone from the original Howard County courthouse once located near the site will mark the capsule's location. The bronze dedication plaque for the stone will be unveiled along with a unique community-sourced graphic that will be included in the capsule's contents. A song from the EC250 musical On National Road will be performed and special guest Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will speak along with other dignitaries.
