Economic Development Authority Launches Website

The new site promotes Howard County, its businesses and opportunities online.

Want to know where to buy local produce? Thinking about starting a business? The Howard County Economic Development Authority (HCEDA) knows information can be hard to come by, and has launched a new website to better promote Howard County.

ā€œWhen we promote Maryland as an ideal location to start and grow a business, we talk about the unique characteristics of each jurisdiction,ā€ Christian S. Johansson, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development said in a statement.Ā 

ā€œYou can’t talk about Howard County without mentioning its positive business climate, quality of life, well-educated workforce and outstanding schools. The new HCEDA website tells the story of what makes Maryland great and will serve as a terrific resource and business development tool for the State.ā€Ā

Www.hceda.org is crisp, clean and user-friendly, HCEDA CEO Laura A. Neuman said in a statement. ā€œWhen we were looking to create a new website,ā€ she said, ā€œWe didn’t want visitors to struggle to find information.ā€

The site is full of useful information, from a section on eating locally, to information on starting, growing or relocating businesses.

ā€œFor companies looking to grow or relocate to Howard County, the search often begins online,ā€ County Executive Ken Ulman said in a statement.

ā€œThe new HCEDA site makes an excellent first impression and in a matter of a few clicks a business or entrepreneur can find what they need to know about Howard County – from our physical climate to our business climate,ā€ Ulman continued.

ā€œI am pleased with this new economic development site. It accomplishes exactly what we wanted it to and more.ā€
