Ellicott City Man Acquires Cleaning Franchise

An Ellicott City entrepreneur who recently purchased a cleaning franchise said he hopes to “make a positive impact” in his community.

Neil Middleton, who lives in Ellicott City, bought the Enviro-Master franchise in the District of Columbia, the company announced in a statement Tuesday.

Enviro-Master is a commercial restroom cleaning company that has 120 clients in the DC metro area of Anne Arundel, Howard, Prince George’s, Montgomery and Frederick counties.

“With disease prevention an area of ongoing public concern, I feel that Enviro-Master brings a full complement of hygiene services solutions with outstanding products, service innovations and a reputation for excellence that will enable me to make a positive impact in my community,” Middleton said.

The company focuses on preventing the spread of disease and odors while creating cleaner and healthier facilities beyond routine maintenance. It was named one of the top new franchises in 2014 by Entrepreneur magazine.

“Enviro-Master stood out from other franchise opportunities I considered with its proven disease prevention concept, low capital investment, low competition and residual income potential,” Middleton said.

Middleton most recently served as chairman for the Maryland Motor Truck Association and spent 16 years as CEO of Middleton & Meads, a truck repair company in Baltimore, according to a statement from Enviro-Master.

He holds a master’s degree in management from Johns Hopkins University and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland-College Park, the statement said.

In the transition from the franchise’s former owner, Middleton said he retained all current service technicians and is looking for a manager, according to a statement from Enviro-Master.
