For over 35 years, the Center for Infant & Child Loss has played a critical role in the healing process of bereaved parents, families, and communities throughout Maryland. The Center counsels’ over 200 families per year, helping them cope with the tragic death of a child and offers them much needed hope for the future. It is the grief resource available to all families, at no cost, for punctual contact and counseling services. The Center’s mission commits us to reaching out to families and communities struggling to cope with the sudden, unexpected death of an infant or child. It also commits us to providing bereavement and risk reduction education to the childcare community, healthcare and educational professionals throughout the state.
Our most important vehicle for raising money is our annual charity golf event and evening reception. The 22nd annual AT&T SIDS Golf Invitational & Evening Reception will be held at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City on October 1, 2012. Last year, the event raised approximately 35% of the Center’s annual budget, which supported counseling, literature distribution, training and research efforts. It would be impossible to reach our goals or offer the Center's bereavement services without the help of our valued supporters.
