Grilling on Salt!

Yes....salt!   Himalayan salt that is!

Stone Age man discovered that salt made food taste better, plus preserved it for later consumption. Centuries later, man found that food cooked on salt tastes really good, too. You can cook on it, freeze it and eat ice cream off it or serve sushi on it. However you use a block, the food will take on a tinge of salt and minerals that is sublime!  I'll demonstrate how to cook on a salt block.

We will be making:
- Watermelon Skewers on salt block
- Grilled Shrimp with Rosemary Skewers on salt block
- Veggie kabobs
- frozen block for vanilla ice-cream with bourbon caramel

The class is mixed format of demo and hands-on. I will be demonstrating a particular technique and then students will get to pull up their sleeves and get their hands into the cooking. Hands-on participation will be done in groups.

Class is open to adults ONLY

We will provide all aprons for use during class.
