
All are invited to drop by the Gould Observatory between 6:30 and 8:30 this Friday evening (11/18) for another tour of the sky and a search for deep space objects through the telescope.
With the Moon safely below the horizon, the stars and planets will seem to shine even brighter. If you missed Jupiter last week, this is another opportunity to see its moons in orbit, although they will have moved since last week.
As for prominent constellations this time of year, unfortunately there isn’t a turkey represented in the stars, but there are other flying animals such as a swan, an eagle, a winged horse, and a dragon (Go Dragons!).

With dark skies this week, we should also be able to use the telescope to see some star clusters, double stars, and even way out to our neighboring galaxy about 2 ½ million light years away.
