Rockburn Skills Park Pump Track Day

Rockburn Skills Park Pump Track
Made possible by Clif Bar’s Meet the Moment Program

Bring the family and the bikes out to experience the construction of the Pump Track, Phase 1 of the new Rockburn Skills Park.  Volunteers are invited to help with the finishing touches of the construction early in the morning with the goal of test riding the track around 11 or 12 noon, and continuing to fine tune it.  It is an exciting track to ride and fun for all ages.  Check out photos of the new park on the website.

RSVP here so we know how much food and drink to have on hand: RSVP

Photos of the pump track being constructed are being posted on the website daily.  Phase 2 will occur in the spring and consist of 5 more trails in the park.  Help us raise the additional funds for these trails by donating on www.RockburnSkillsPark.org.

Clif Bar, as part of their Meet the Moment campaign, designated 5 non-profit groups’ projects to receive generous funding for events on October 2nd, Clif Bar’s “day of action”.
IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) was one of the non-profit groups selected, and a project high on their list is the Rockburn Skills Park, a project being spearheaded by local cycling advocacy organizations MORE (Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts) and BAHC (Bicycle Advocates of Howard County). The goal of the project is an inviting but challenging bicycle skills park where riders of all ages can practice from beginning to advanced bike riding skills and safe riding techniques. Through the hard work of MORE and the generous support of many local sponsors and residents, this skills area will include a pump track, gravity flow trails, and beginner skills practice area and be free for all to enjoy!
Construction is ongoing this week, and the Oct. 2nd event will feature appearance by national and world champion celebrity riders, lunch and drinks provided by Clif Bar, and of course, plenty of fun riding around the newly built pump track! THIS IS FOR ALL AGES AND ABILITY LEVELS - the more KIDS the BETTER!!!! We will work for a few hours putting on the final touches, then at lunchtime the track is open!
