The MDOT SHA will shut down the northbound US 29 exit ramp to westbound US 40 in Howard County Wednesday at 10 p.m.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Drivers should be aware that the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will shut down the northbound US 29 exit ramp to westbound US 40 in Howard County Wednesday at 10 p.m.
The closure is related to the construction of a stormwater retention basin as part of a flood protection project being done in Ellicott City. The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
Drivers needing to use westbound US 40 will be directed to the eastbound US 40 exit and then turn onto the westbound lanes using the traffic signals at Ridge Road. MDOT SHA will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the work zone and ramp closure.
