Fire Causes Extensive Damage To Howard County Home, Displaces Famliy
An Ellicott City family has been displaced from their home after a fire caused extensive damage shortly before midnight Friday.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An Ellicott City home has been declared uninhabitable after an overnight fire caused extensive damage. Located in the 3200 block of Old Fence Road, neighbors reported a loud noise and flames shooting out of the home Friday shortly before midnight.
The home's residents were safely evacuated before firefighters arrived. The two-story split foyer single-family home experienced heavy fire damage to the roof. It took the firefighters close to half an hour to extinguish the fire.
The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
