Enter a magical, mystical world Memorial Day Weekend at the FantasyWood Festival in Howard County.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Families are invited to visit the 400-acre Living Farm Heritage Museum in West Friendship where the site will be transformed into a magical forest for the FantasyWood Festival Memorial Day Weekend.
Costume designer Lee Andersen, who owns the Columbia–based arts and education nonprofit ManneqArt, created the festival as a way to spark creativity in the community. Together with the Inner Arbor Trust, which manages Merriweather Park, and the Circus Siren Pod mermaid performance group, Andersen held the first FantasyWood Festival at the arts and culture park in 2019. An estimated 5,000 people attended that first year.
Festivalgoers of all ages are encouraged to wear costumes that are appropriate for the children in attendance. Daily tickets are available as are three-day passes. Children aged three years and younger are free of charge and free parking is available.
