Saturday's Fatal Hit And Run Victim in Ellicott City Identified: Howard County Police
The victim involved in Saturday's fatal hit and run in Ellicott City has been identified by police. The suspect remains at large.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The victim in a hit-and-run collision that happened in Ellicott City Jan. 20 has been identified by police.
The pedestrian has been identified as 77-year-old Soon Ja Chung of Ellicott City.
At approximately 4:55 p.m. Jan. 20, a vehicle believed to be a 2013-2018 silver Nissan Altima was traveling east on Baltimore National Pike at Ridge Road when it hit a woman crossing Baltimore National Pike in the crosswalk. The woman was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she was pronounced dead.

The vehicle that hit Chung did not stop and continued east on Baltimore National Pike. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision. Anyone with information about the suspect's vehicle or who may have witnessed the collision should contact PFC Colson at 410-313-4750.
