Find Cheapest Gas In Howard County For Labor Day Weekend Travel

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — If you're heading out Labor Day weekend and hitting the open road, be sure to fill up at a local gas station with surprising low gas prices. According to a new AAA report, gas prices across the country this holiday weekend are at a three-year low.

"For Americans who bookend summer with road trips, they will find gas prices this coming weekend that are cheaper than this past Memorial Day and last year's Labor Day holiday," said AAA spokeswoman Jeanette Casselano. "At the start of the week, two-thirds of all states have gas price averages that are nearly a quarter cheaper than last year."

Right now, the national gas price average is $2.58. That's 25 cents cheaper than last year's holiday weekend ($2.83) and five cents cheaper than it was in 2017 ($2.63), according to AAA. In Maryland, the average gas prices are $2.46 (for regular), $2.86 (for mid-grade), $3.10 (for premium), and $2.88 (for diesel).
