Fire Shuts Down Part Of Route 40 In Ellicott City: HCDFRS
BREAKING: Firefighters were called to a building blaze off Route 40, officials reported Thursday morning.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Westbound US 40 is closed to traffic Thursday morning due to emergency response at a building in the area near Patapsco State Park, officials said.
Firefighters were called to a basement fire at a building in the 8000 block of Baltimore National Pike, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
The blaze reportedly occurred at Brown's Motel.

After 10 a.m., crews reported the fire was out. First responders working to ventilate the structure and clean up the area.
Route 40 west remained closed to traffic in the vicinity.
