Firefighter, Resident Injured During Townhouse Fire: Official

A firefighter and a resident were taken to the hospital after being injured during a townhouse fire Friday, officials say.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A firefighter and a resident were injured in a townhouse fire that happened Friday shortly before 5:30 p.m.

The fire happened at a townhome located in the 8900 block of Rosewood Way in Jessup. Firefighters found a blaze shooting through the roof of the three-story townhouse. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes, helping prevent "serious damage" to adjoining homes.

The injured resident and firefighter were taken to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
